Mica Eiger

I found Mica tied up behind a house that I was delivering to when I worked for UPS.  I said to the lady who answered the door, "What a cute puppy!"

She snapped back, "You want it?"

Taken aback, I immediately said, "Sure. I'll come by and pick her up after I get off work."

She eyed me suspeciously, so I added, "Really. I mean it."

And so Mica came to live with me and Micki. They were about the same size when I first brought Mica home. I guess she must have been around 8-months. You'll see through the photos on the site that she grew to be about twice Micki's size, but they were fast friends from the start.

Her full name came to be Mica Eigerwand, P.I.B. The Eigerwand is the treacherous North Face of the Eiger mountain, the one that was featured in that Clint Eastwood movie.  The 'Mica' came from Mica Lake, which is near Fire Pass by Glacier Peak.  The 'P.I.B'. stands for 'pain in butt' because sometimes she was .

Again, right off the top of my head, I don't remember where this was taken.  Pasaytan Wilderness?  Entiat area?  Hmmm ... I'll have to look into it.

Head-strong, intelligent, loving and beautiful.  Great hiking dog.
